Course summary:
Build on your injecting knowledge and skills with the Dermal Filler Foundation Course. We recommend at least 3-6 months of injecting neuromodulators and consulting cosmetic patients before progressing to this course, to give you the experience to progress safely into treating the cheeks, lips and chin with HA fillers.
You will receive/learn about:
- Introduction to dermal fillers and their role in cosmetic medicine
- Anatomy for fillers including bone, fat pads, muscle and skin
- Product knowledge - different filler types, their properties, and when to use them, including non-HA fillers and the key HA fillers from Allergan, Galderma, Merz, and Teosyal.
- Different injection techniques with needle and cannula, and when to use them
- The consultation process - contraindications, precautions, educating the patient, creating a treatment plan, providing informed consent and managing expectations.
- Facial assessment including facial balance and harmony,
- Introduction to treating the lips, cheeks and chin, and common methods used
- Legalities and ethics in filler use including documentation, patient confidentiality, regulatory guidelines and ethical considerations including when/how to say ‘No’.
While this course will discuss all the main types of dermal filler, the key focus of training will be the hyaluronic acid fillers as these fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase (Hyalase) if there are adverse reactions to the treatment.
Dermal fillers are very popular cosmetic treatments and can be beautiful and effective when done well, but can be scary when done poorly or with limited knowledge. They do require extra knowledge for managing complications, so we recommend doing the hands-on Hyalase and Dermal Filler Complication Workshop before progressing to your hands on Dermal Filler Practical Workshop, so you are well prepared to safely and effectively manage any potential serious adverse events.
Once you have completed this online course and the in person Hyalase Workshop, you will be able to register for your practical workshop to build on your knowledge with practical application of what you have learned, in an intimate, small group environment.
By completing the online course and practical workshop, you should feel confident and competent in providing a full consultation, assessment, consent and plan for your patients using the HA fillers for lips, cheeks and chin, and feel good about providing safe and effective natural-looking treatments with a high satisfaction rate.

Full payment is required to confirm your place in the workshop. We have small classes with a maximum of 6 injectors per day, so placement in the training course is on a first paid, first served basis.
For cancellations of your place in the workshop, we require at least 14 days’ notice.
You will receive a full refund of the training cost or the opportunity to transfer to another date, subject to availability.
Cancellations from 8 – 13 days prior to the training date are eligible for a 50% refund of the workshop cost or have one opportunity to transfer to a future date for the same workshop.
Any cancellations within 7 days prior to the workshop will forfeit the full training fee and are unable to transfer to an alternative training date.
